Best night market for food at street in Nagoya called Nayabashi Yoichi
Instagram account of Nayabashi Yoichi is here .
Foreigners who wonder if Nagoya has night markets should know that it actually does. The Nayabashi area, about a 10-minute walk from Nagoya Station, hosts a night market called “Nayabashi Yoichi” on the fourth Friday of every month. In July 2024, I actually visited “Nayabashi Yoichi,” so I’ll share what it was like along with some photos.
Nayabashi Yoichi takes place in the Nayabashi area of Nagoya City. You can easily find it by searching for “Nayabashi.” If you look around at Nayabashi, you’ll likely see the venue, which is held on the sidewalk along Horikawa River. For specific location details, please refer to the Google Maps information provided above.
The weather was good that day, and many people were gathered along the narrow path by the river. It has an atmosphere more like a Southeast Asian market rather than a typical Japanese one.
At Nayabashi Yoichi, a variety of items are sold, including beer, wine, sake, ramen, takoyaki, and even pine cones. You’re likely to find something that suits your taste. However, keep in mind that most places only accept Japanese yen for payment.
In addition to the stalls, there were also people singing.
Nayabashi Yoichi offers a unique experience of Japan. It’s an easy event to attend, so if you have the chance, be sure to visit. Don’t forget to bring Japanese yen
Please check the official Instagram page for the schedule of Nayabashi Yoichi.
