Hidden Shrine in Nagoya
I was walking along Sakura-dori near Hisaya Ōdōri Park when I came across a shrine. It’s called Fuji Jinja (Fuji Shrine) As the name suggests, this shrine is dedicated to Mount Fuji. There are several other shrines in Nagoya that also worship Mount Fuji, such as Fuji Sengen Shrine in Ōsu and Sengen Shrine in Shikemichi.
It is said to have been founded in 1398. Although the entrance to the shrine is small, the grounds are surprisingly spacious.

Just inside the entrance, there is a stone that was originally intended to be used in the construction of Nagoya Castle.

The shrine grounds are well maintained, and you can feel a sense of sacredness in the air.
