An ancient tomb in Osu shopping Street
When I went to Osu Shopping Street, I happened to find an ancient tomb, so I’ll introduce it.
It’s well known that many ancient tombs can be found in the Kansai region (Osaka, Nara, Kyoto), with several belonging to the imperial family, such as the tomb of Emperor Nintoku. However, it turns out that Nagoya also has its share of ancient tombs, and the one I’m introducing today is one of them. This ancient tomb is located within the Osu shopping district. It’s just a short distance after exiting the arcade street.
The site where the ancient tomb is located has been turned into a park and is open to the public. It’s also possible to climb on top of the tomb. It was built around the 5th century and is believed to be the tomb of a powerful clan that lived in this area.
I climbed on top of the ancient tomb. Here’s a photo from above. You can see the Daikō-in Temple.
