A Relaxing Coffee Break at Double Tall Café Near Kamimaezu Station

If you’re looking for a cozy café in Nagoya away from the weekend crowds, I recommend Double Tall Café, located just a 3-minute walk from Kamimaezu Station.
About Double Tall Café

Double Tall Café is a chain with around 10 locations across Japan, but it originally started right here in Nagoya. The Kamimaezu branch I visited is relatively new, having opened in 2017. It sits along a main street that I often walk past, and on weekends, it’s usually packed with customers.
My Visit on a Weekday

I stopped by on a weekday around 11:00 am, and to my surprise, there were only two other groups inside. The interior had a calm atmosphere, with stylish wooden tables and chairs. Near the entrance, there were four-person tables as well as counter seats designed for solo visitors.
At the counter, a university student from Fukui was chatting with the staff, giving the place a friendly, local vibe. I chose a two-person table at the very back and ordered an iced café au lait (¥650). The taste was refreshing and smooth, perfect for a quiet mid-morning break.
I stayed for about an hour to do some work on my laptop. There were no power outlets and I didn’t notice any Wi-Fi, but since I carry my own pocket Wi-Fi, it wasn’t an issue. For reference, the restroom is located just beyond the back tables.

Why I Recommend It

While Double Tall Café tends to be crowded on weekends, weekdays are much quieter, making it a great spot to relax or spend some peaceful time. Compared to nearby Ōsu, where many cafés are full even on weekdays, this location often has available seating. If you can’t find a café seat in Ōsu, walking a few extra minutes to Kamimaezu’s Double Tall Café is a smart choice.
