A Stylish Work-Friendly Spot with Wi-Fi and Power Outlets

A brand-new PRONTO café has just opened in the heart of Sakae, and I stopped by to check it out on February 23, 2026.
Located about a five-minute walk from Sakae Station in central Nagoya, PRONTO is a well-known Japanese café-and-bar chain that operates across the country. During the daytime it functions as a casual café, and in the evening it transitions into a bar-style space.
A New Option in a Café-Competitive Area
Sakae is already packed with cafés. Within just a short walk of this new PRONTO, you’ll find chains like Caffè Veloce and Blue Bottle Coffee. While there are many options, the area is always busy, and it’s surprisingly common to find most cafés full—especially in the afternoon. That’s why the opening of another spacious café is actually very welcome.
First Impressions

The entrance is relatively narrow, so at first glance the café may look small. However, once inside, the space stretches deep toward the back and offers far more seating than I expected. There is even a fully separated smoking section.
I chose a non-smoking seat near the entrance to the smoking area, but I didn’t notice any cigarette smell at all, which was reassuring.
The interior design is stylish and slightly sophisticated—likely because the space is designed to function as a bar in the evening. The overall atmosphere feels calm and relaxed, making it comfortable for both casual visits and quiet time alone.
Working Environment: Power & Wi-Fi
Near the entrance, there are counter seats equipped with power outlets, which makes this location suitable for working on a laptop during the day. As someone who often works from cafés, I appreciated this.
Wi-Fi is available, although registration via email is required, which feels a bit inconvenient. I tested the speed, and it was average—perfectly fine for browsing, writing, or light online work, but probably not ideal for heavy uploads or streaming.
Day to Night Transformation
Around 6:00 p.m., the lighting throughout the café gradually dimmed, and the atmosphere shifted noticeably into a bar-like setting. The mood became more intimate and evening-oriented. At that point, I decided to stop working on my laptop and head out, as it no longer felt like a daytime workspace.
Since the café has just opened, there seemed to be plenty of staff on duty. They greeted customers enthusiastically—almost excessively—but their energy added to the welcoming atmosphere.
Final Thoughts
In the stylish Sakae area, securing a seat at a popular café can often be challenging. This new PRONTO offers a comfortable and relatively spacious alternative. Whether you’re looking for a place to relax with coffee during the day or enjoy drinks in the evening, it’s a solid new option in central Nagoya.
If you’re visiting Sakae and need a dependable café with seating, power outlets, and a calm ambiance, this newly opened spot is worth considering.
