Work-Friendly Café in Sakae

During my recent weekend in Nagoya, I visited Café Veloce in Sakae — about a five-minute walk from Sakae Station. I stopped by on a Saturday morning from around 7:00 to 8:30 a.m., and as expected at that early hour, there were only a few customers, making it a quiet and relaxing place to start the day.
Café Veloce is a Tokyo-based coffee chain, but interestingly, there seem to be very few branches in Nagoya. In fact, I believe this one in Sakae might be the only one in the city.

The café has a counter along the window with power outlets, which is perfect if you need to do some laptop work. They also offer free Wi-Fi, and I tested the speed — around 84 Mbps, which should be more than enough for most users. It’s a good spot for remote work or checking emails before exploring the city.

For breakfast, I ordered the B set, which cost about ¥550 — very reasonable. The coffee tasted fairly standard, similar to what you’d get from a 7-Eleven convenience store. If you’re looking for high-quality coffee, you might prefer the Blue Bottle Coffee nearby. But if you just want a simple, inexpensive breakfast in a comfortable space, Veloce is a solid choice.
One thing to note: this café is partially smoking, and depending on where you sit, smoke from the smoking section can drift into the non-smoking area. If you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke, you may want to choose your seat carefully.

Overall, Café Veloce in Sakae is a budget-friendly café where you can enjoy a light breakfast, work on your laptop, and take a quiet break in central Nagoya.
