Glitch Coffee Nagoya, speciality coffee near Nagoya station
It has become a trend in Nagoya City for hotels to have cafés adjacent to their front desks. Front desk operations are busy during check-in and check-out times, but outside of those hours, the workload is lighter. I think the idea is to have the staff take on café duties during those quieter periods. Here are some of the representative hotel-adjacent cafés in Nagoya. Of course, I’ve visited and experienced all of them myself.
This time, I’d like to introduce a café called Glitch Coffee. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Nagoya Station. This café is attached to the front desk of the capsule hotel “9hours.” It is open to non-guests as well, so anyone can use the café.
This café is particular about its coffee beans, and the front desk displays a variety of different coffee beans.
This time, I ordered a latte using coffee beans from Ethiopia Hambela. The roast is said to be standard, but it had the acidic flavor that has been trendy in Japan in recent years. If you really want to enjoy the taste of the coffee, I wouldn’t recommend making it into a latte.
This café offers free Wi-Fi and free power outlets. There are about 20 seats, so it’s not always available, but the window seats provide a good environment for working on a PC.
