Shrine dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi
Toyokuni Shrine is dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. In fact, there are Toyokuni Shrines all over Japan, with the head shrine located in Kyoto. The Toyokuni Shrine in Nagoya was built in 1885 at the birthplace of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

The large tori gate on the main street in front of the shrine is quite famous.

The shrine grounds aren’t very large. It takes about three minutes to reach the main hall from the entrance

There is also a stone monument marking the birthplace of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. However, there are several theories about the exact location of his birth, with other possible sites as well. Since the area isn’t definitively confirmed, it’s best to simply appreciate the history and think of it as a possible location.
