Lamp Light Books Hotel Nagoya is a hotel which has a cafe at the entrance. This cafe is located in the Fushimi area of Nagoya city. When asking about “Fushimi” to Japanese people except from Nagoyas, they answer about Kyoto Fushimi, where Tori gates shrine stands. I am from the northern part of Japan so I had not known Nagoya’s Fushimi neither. It is said that 400 years ago, Rokubei Fushimiya, who had lived in Fushimi Kyoto, moved to this area. That is why this district is also called “Fushimi”. Fushimi in Nagoya is now a business town having a lot of offices of big companies. Most of the buildings in the district were newly constructed after air raids of U.S. military forces of WW2 but a few buildings such as Thai restaurant “Siam garden“, “Nayabashi bridge” and “Mitsui sumitomo bank” can still remain as they used be.
Lamp Light Books Hotel Nagoya Cafe is well known for its concept as a “book cafe” surrounded by bookshelves. However all books are written in Japanese. This cafe can be used by not only guests of the hotel but also people who just drink a cup of coffee. Inside the cafe is really calm and most of the people were working or reading a book. All sheets have power outlets and free WiFi is available so this is an appropriate place for working with PC.
I ordered the Cafe latte and hamburger shown in the above picture (totally about ¥1000). Cafe latte was really nice but the hamburger was quite small and I was not satisfied. If you want to eat lunch, I recommend you should go to other places.
