Unmanned Cafe is getting popular in Nagoya
Unstaffed cafes are becoming more common in Nagoya. Recently, rising labor costs and inflation have led to many small, independently-owned restaurants closing down. These vacant spaces are now often being replaced by unmanned cafes. The most common unstaffed cafe chain in Nagoya is “Self Cafe.” Many people have probably seen these outlets near major stations like Sakae. Recently, a new unstaffed cafe called “Furari CAFE” opened in Mizuho Ward, and I decided to check it out. Here’s an explanation of the cafe, along with some photos.
How to use
The usage rules for Furari CAFE are the same as Self Cafe, and you just need to follow these simple guidelines:
- Purchase from the café’s vending machine.
- Make an additional purchase if you once leave cafe and use it again.
- Don’t bring your own food or drinks.
- Clean up after yourself once you’ve finished using the space.
Inside of Furari cafe
Furari CAFE stands out for its calm and inviting atmosphere. Compared to Self Cafe, its interior design feels more stylish and thoughtful.
Each seat has power outlets. The Wi-Fi password is displayed on the wall. Visitors from abroad shouldn’t have any issues here.
I checked the Wi-Fi speed, and it’s comfortable to use. If you’re looking for faster Wi-Fi than here, I recommend trying Self Cafe.
