A Quiet 100-Yen Café Inside a Hotel in Nagoya

While walking from Fushimi Station toward Sakae, I noticed a sign at the entrance of a hotel that said the café inside was open to non-guests. Even more surprising, it said coffee was only 100 yen. That immediately caught my attention, so I decided to stop in and try it.

The hotel is Prince Smart Inn Nagoya Sakae, located about a five-minute walk from Fushimi Station. This area is known for having many business hotels, so it’s a convenient place for travelers to stay.

To enter the café, you first go up to the second-floor hotel entrance. Near the entrance, there is a touchscreen ordering system for café visitors. You simply place your order there before entering.
Because the sunlight coming through the windows made the space a bit warm, I decided to order a vanilla ice cream instead of coffee.

The café is actually the hotel’s breakfast venue, so the space is quite large and open. Every seat is equipped with power outlets, which makes it a good place to charge your smartphone or work on a laptop.

For Wi-Fi, you can use Nagoya Free Wi‑Fi. Registration with an email address is required, which is a little inconvenient, but the connection speed is decent. It’s perfectly fine for basic browsing and online work.
Since the café is located at the hotel entrance, it becomes slightly busier in the early evening when guests start arriving to check in. It can get a little noisier at that time.

There are actually many cafés around this neighborhood, but they are often crowded and it can be hard to find a seat. In contrast, this hotel café tends to have far fewer visitors, making it a nice hidden spot if you want a quiet place to relax or do some work.
